Hello, I'm Juliano Alcoforado. I've always had a passion for photography and visual arts. I graduated in Advertising in 1996 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After spending a few years working in advertising agencies, I discovered my true calling was in production houses and studios rather than traditional agencies. In pursuit of this passion, I made the move to London in 2000, where I studied computer graphics at the former London Guildhall University, now known as London Metropolitan University.
Since then, I've returned to Brazil and had the privilege to work at TV Globo, the second-largest commercial television network globally, covering an impressive 98.60% of Brazil's territory and reaching approximately 99.55% of the Brazilian population. At TV Globo, I had the opportunity to work on numerous productions from Soup Operas to TV series and films.
For some years, I ventured to work with Rede Record, another major television network and content producer in Brazil. However, I eventually found my way back to TV Globo, where I improved my expertise in Digital Environment and Set Extension.
In 2018, I received an exciting opportunity to join MPC in Vancouver, where I worked on the film "Detective Pikachu" and later contributed to "Maleficent 2." This journey led me to permanently relocate my family to Vancouver in 2019. Since then, I've had the pleasure of contributing to several films and series.
During the pandemic, I had a rewarding experience working at a video game studio, specifically in the cinematic department. I found this experience to be incredibly enriching for my artistic development, as cinematic work in the gaming industry allows for a more fantastical and imaginative approach compared to traditional film and series.
More recently, I had the privilege of working at DNEG, where I had the opportunity to contribute to "Citadel," a series by the Russo Brothers, and "Dune Part Two."
I am continually inspired by the ever-evolving world of visual arts, and I'm grateful for the diverse experiences that have shaped my career in VFX and Computer Graphics. Each project has added a unique dimension to my creative journey, and I look forward to what the future holds in this dynamic and captivating industry.
